Discuss the project with your group and how it will impact military kids.- Get a feel from your group and PLEDGE! how many Card Kits you will create.
- Sign up on the Community Forum and register your group on the Community Forum to communicate with other Card Kit creators and KidsLink staff on progress, ideas, or questions you might have. Click “Add a Group” and fill in the details of your group. Then invite your group members to join your group. You can utilize the group to talk about the project, arrange meeting times, or to celebrate getting the project done together. You will receive important periodic updates from KidsLink from this forum.
- Become a fan of the Facebook KidsLink Downrange page (if you have a Facebook account). Here you can communicate with church groups, kids, soldiers, MOPS moms, and anyone else participating in the project.
- Pick a date and time where you will host an event to create Card Kits. Make sure you can make the kits and get them sent by the requested postmark date for your project. You may have to meet more than once to complete the number of kits you have pledged. (If you are participating with MOPS: go here to find your postmark date. If you are participating for a special project: go here to find your postmark date.)
- Gather resources for making cards. See your Instructions and Resources for examples.
- Have fun making cards!!
- Package all necessary materials and postmark by the deadline. Make sure you send your send your package to the right location. Check the Locations page for more information.
- Pray for the families receiving these card kits and wait in anticipation for the child who receives your card kit to send his or her response card! This card will contain prayer requests so you can pray more specifically for the individual child. (Please keep in mind that not all kids will send back their cards. This is the decision of the family who receives your kit.)
